Info Edge

Info Edge interview questions

Info Edge, the company behind Naukri.com, 99acres, Jeevansathi and Shiksha, runs two very different processes. Tech candidates take an online test with MCQs and coding, then two or three technical rounds and HR. Sales candidates skip coding and get one-on-one rounds, sometimes an aptitude test, and a mock sales pitch. Some 2025–26 tech drives have also started asking AI and LLM basics.

Roles covered: SDEs, SDETs and data engineers for tech; corporate sales and operations roles across Naukri, 99acres, Jeevansathi and Shiksha, mostly in Noida. We are not affiliated with Info Edge and this is not an official question bank. It describes what candidates consistently report, reviewed for the 2025–26 hiring cycle. Confirm the current process on the company’s own careers page before you apply.

The rounds
01

Online assessment (tech)

MCQs plus coding. The format varies by drive

Aptitude and technical MCQs, then medium DSA problems.

02

Technical rounds

Two or three, roughly 45 to 70 minutes each

Medium DSA first, then deeper rounds on your projects, OOP, DBMS, OS and SQL.

03

Managerial or HR

A managerial round sometimes comes before HR

Why Info Edge, your plans, and your strengths and weaknesses.

04

Sales track

No coding. A resume screen, one-on-one rounds and often a pitch

A mock sales call or a pen-selling pitch, and why you want a sales role.

Technical round

Sort an array of 0s, 1s and 2s in one pass.

Explain the three-pointer approach and walk through a small example before you code.

Find a triplet in an array that adds up to a given sum.

Start from Two Sum, then sort and use two pointers. State the complexity at each step.

Find the longest palindromic substring.

Explain expanding around the centre and why it beats checking every substring.

Why did you choose this database for your project, and what is sharding?

Later rounds dig into your project's decisions. Know why you picked your stack and what you'd change at scale.

Explain joins, normalisation, and processes versus threads.

These fundamentals come up in most rounds. Some recent drives have also asked basic questions about how LLMs work.

HR round

Why do you want to join Info Edge?

Name a product you use, like Naukri or 99acres, and what you'd want to work on in it.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Give a real example for each. Interviewers follow up on whatever you say.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Any plans for higher studies?

Be honest. If you're considering an MBA or MS later, say so and explain how this role fits.

(Sales) Sell me this pen.

Ask about the buyer's needs before you pitch. A strong sales answer starts with questions.

What candidates get wrong here
  • Practise medium array and string problems. They make up most of the reported coding questions.
  • For sales roles, prepare a short pitch and know Info Edge's products well.
  • Have a basic answer ready on how AI and LLMs work. Some 2025–26 tech drives have started asking.

Practise them, don’t only read them

Practise these against an AI interviewer that asks the follow-ups and scores your answer, including the HR questions on notice period and expected CTC. Or check your resume first with the free ATS score checker.
