Capgemini interview questions
Capgemini's process includes a game-based aptitude round that surprises candidates who prepared only for conventional papers. It measures pattern recognition and working memory under time pressure rather than syllabus knowledge.
Roles covered: Analyst and Senior Analyst. We are not affiliated with Capgemini and this is not an official question bank. It describes what candidates consistently report, reviewed for the 2025–26 hiring cycle. Confirm the current process on the company’s own careers page before you apply.
Game-based aptitude
Interactive puzzle games, timed
Pattern recognition, memory, reaction under pressure. There is no syllabus to revise.
Behavioural assessment
Questionnaire
Consistency. Answer as yourself; contradictory answers across similar questions are the thing it detects.
Technical assessment
Pseudocode, English and technical fundamentals
Pseudocode is weighted heavily and is easy to under-prepare for.
Technical and HR interview
One-on-one
Project, fundamentals, fit.
Pseudocode: trace this loop and state the output.
Trace it on paper line by line instead of pattern-matching. Most mistakes here come from reading too fast, and very few come from not knowing the concept.
Explain your project architecture.
Draw it if you can. A candidate who can sketch the components and the data flow reads as someone who built it.
What is a primary key versus a foreign key?
Uniqueness and identity versus the reference to another table, plus what a foreign key enforces on delete.
What is recursion, and what are its costs?
Base case and recursive case, plus stack depth and when you would convert it to iteration.
Why Capgemini?
Something specific: a domain, the European client base, a technology practice. Not "a reputed MNC".
Tell me about a time you failed.
Pick a real one, keep the description short, and spend most of the answer on what you changed afterwards. A candidate with no failures reads as one with no self-awareness.
Are you open to relocating to any Capgemini location?
Honest answer, once, with the reason if there is a constraint.
- You cannot revise for the game-based round, but you can stop being surprised by it. Do a few timed pattern and memory games so the format is familiar.
- Practise pseudocode specifically. It is weighted heavily and most candidates spend all their coding prep in a real language instead.
