Sequence, cycle time, the bottleneck, and where defects usually appear. Naming the bottleneck without being asked is the fastest way to sound like you actually worked there.
Rejections rose 3% last month. How do you find the cause?
Data first, then a structured method you have actually used: fishbone, five whys, or whatever your plant ran. End with how you verified the fix held, because that is the half candidates skip.
What would you do if a machine were run without its guard in place?
Stop the work. Say that first and without hedging, then report and correct. Any answer that weighs production against a safety violation fails the round.
- Bring your numbers: output per shift, rejection percentage, downtime, and the delta you were responsible for.
- Know the standards your plant worked to and what your role was during an audit.
- Freshers: your internship and final-year project are the whole conversation. Know the machines by name.
