Confirm the facts, quantify the impact on the customer or the line, work the alternatives in parallel, and communicate before you are asked. The order tells the panel whether you have done this at 2am.
How do you decide between air and surface for an urgent order?
Cost of the freight against the cost of the delay, including the customer penalty and the relationship. Show that you would take the expensive option when the arithmetic says so, and that you would document why.
How would you reduce warehouse cost without hurting service?
Slotting, picking routes, shift alignment to order profile, and returns handling. Give the metric you moved and what you gave up to move it, since a saving with no trade-off named sounds theoretical.
- Bring your numbers: on-time delivery, cost per shipment, inventory turns, and fill rate.
- Have one peak-season story. Festive and quarter-end volume is where this vertical is really tested.
- Know the compliance basics you touch, including e-way bills and the documents that hold up a consignment.
