Teacher resume

A teaching resume is read for fit against a specific timetable. Which board, which subject, which grades, and is your qualification the one the role legally requires? Everything after that is evidence you can hold a class.

What gets checked first
  1. 01Board and grades taught — CBSE, ICSE, IB, state board — because the syllabus differs and schools hire against theirs.
  2. 02Subject specialisation with the exact grade range.
  3. 03B.Ed, TET, CTET or equivalent, with year and score where relevant.
  4. 04Measurable classroom outcomes: pass rates, average score movement, board results.

Mistakes that cost interviews
  • Not naming the board. A CBSE school reads an unspecified syllabus as "not ours".
  • Listing "passionate about teaching" instead of what happened to the students' results.
  • Omitting CTET or TET when the role requires it. That is a hard filter, not a preference.

Questions

Should I include board results on a teaching resume?

Yes, when they are good and attributable to your sections. It is the most direct evidence of classroom effectiveness a school can read.

How do I present tuition or coaching experience?

As teaching experience, with student counts and outcomes. Be clear it was coaching so nobody feels misled in the interview.

Does extracurricular involvement help?

Yes — schools staff clubs, houses and events from existing faculty, so a teacher who can run the science fair is worth more than one who cannot.
