Business analyst might be the most ambiguously defined title on this list. It means requirements and documentation at one company, SQL and dashboards at another. The resume that works is the one rewritten for whichever of the two the posting actually describes.
- 01Which BA you are: requirements-and-process, or data-and-reporting. Read the posting and lead with that half.
- 02Domain knowledge, which carries unusual weight here: banking, insurance, retail, healthcare.
- 03Documentation artefacts you actually produced: BRD, FRD, user stories, process maps.
- 04Stakeholder scope: how many teams, which levels, which geographies.

Increasingly yes in India, and it is explicitly named in a large share of postings. Even basic joins and aggregation are worth listing.
How do I show impact as a BA?
Cycle-time reduction, error-rate reduction, manual effort removed, number of teams or users affected. These are yours to claim in a way revenue often isn't.
Does a domain certification help?
In banking and insurance, meaningfully. Elsewhere it is a tiebreaker at best.
